Compulsory insurance

In Ukraine, the following types of compulsory insurance are carried out:

  1. health insurance;
  2. personal insurance of medical and pharmaceutical employees (except for those working in institutions and organizations financed from the State Budget of Ukraine) in case of infection with the human immunodeficiency virus during the performance of their official duties;
  3. personal insurance of departmental employees (except for those working in institutions and organizations financed from the State Budget of Ukraine) and rural fire brigades and members of voluntary fire brigades (teams);
  4. insurance of sportsmen of higher categories;
  5. life and health insurance of specialists in veterinary medicine;
  6. personal insurance against accidents in transport;
  7. aviation insurance of civil aviation;
  8. liability insurance of the maritime carrier and the performer of work related to the servicing of maritime transport, in respect of compensation for losses incurred by passengers, baggage, mail, cargo, other users of the maritime transport and third parties;
  9. insurance of civil liability of owners of land vehicles;
  10. insurance of means of water transport;
  11. insurance of civil liability of the operator of a nuclear installation for nuclear damage that may be caused by a nuclear incident;
  12. insurance of employees (except for those working in institutions and organizations financed from the State Budget of Ukraine) involved in providing psychiatric care, including caring for persons suffering from mental disorders;
  13. insurance of civil liability of economic entities for damage that may be caused by fires and accidents at objects of high danger, including fire and explosive objects and objects, economic activity of which may lead to accidents of ecological and sanitary-epidemiological nature;
  14. insurance of the civil liability of the investor, including for the harm caused to the environment, to the health of people, according to the agreement on the division of production, unless otherwise provided by such agreement;
  15. Property Risks Insurance under a Production Sharing Agreement in cases stipulated by the Law of Ukraine "On Production Sharing Agreements";
  16. insurance of financial responsibility, life and health of the temporary administrator, liquidator of a financial institution and employees of the central executive authority, which implements the state financial policy, which are determined by him to solve the issues of the state's participation in the capitalization of the bank;
  17. insurance of property risks in the industrial development of oil and gas deposits in cases stipulated by the Law of Ukraine "On Oil and Gas";
  18. insurance of medical and other employees of public and communal health care institutions and state scientific institutions (except for those working in institutions and organizations financed from the State Budget of Ukraine) in case of a disease of an infectious disease related to their implementation professional duties in conditions of high risk of infection with pathogens of infectious diseases;
  19. liability insurance of the exporter and the person responsible for the disposal (disposal) of hazardous waste, in respect of compensation for damage that may be caused to human health, property and the environment during the transboundary movement and disposal (removal) of hazardous waste;
  20. insurance of objects of space activity (ground infrastructure), the list of which is approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on the submission of the central executive body, which ensures the formation of state policy in the field of space activities;
  21. insurance of civil liability of subjects of space activity;
  22. insurance of objects of space activity (space infrastructure) owned by Ukraine regarding the risks associated with the preparation for the launch of space technology on the space launch site, launch and operation of it in outer space;
  23. insurance of liability for risks related to the preparation for the launch of space technology on the space launch site, launch and operation of it in outer space;
  24. insurance of liability of subjects of transportation of dangerous goods in case of occurrence of negative consequences in transportation of dangerous goods;
  25. insurance of professional liability of persons whose activities may cause harm to third parties, in accordance with the list established by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine;
  26. liability insurance of the owners of dogs (in the list of breeds specified by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine) regarding the damage that may be caused to third parties;
  27. insurance of civil liability of citizens of Ukraine possessing or otherwise possessing legal possession of weapons for damage that may be caused to a third party or its property as a result of the possession, possession or use of this weapon;
  28. insurance of animals (other than those used for agricultural production purposes) in case of death, destruction, forced slaughter, illness, natural disasters and accidents in cases and according to the list of animals established by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine;
  29. insurance of liability of subjects of tourist activity for damage inflicted on the life or health of a tourist or his property;
  30. liability insurance of the marine shipowner;
  31. insurance of electric power transmission lines and transformer equipment of electric power transmitters from damage caused by natural disasters or man-made disasters and from unlawful actions of third parties;
  32. insurance of liability of producers (suppliers) of products of animal origin, veterinary preparations, substances for damage caused to third parties;
  33. insurance of the subject of mortgage from the risks of accidental destruction, accidental damage or damage;
  34. insurance of the property transferred to the concession;
  35. insurance of civil liability of economic entities for damage that may be caused to the environment or human health during the storage and use of pesticides and agrochemicals;
  36. insurance of civil liability of a business entity for damage that may be caused to third parties as a result of blasting operations;
  37. insurance of property risks of the user of subsoil during experimental, industrial and industrial extraction and use of gas (methane) of coal deposits;
  38. insurance of civil liability of a private notary;
  39. risk insurance for non-payment of prize players in case of insolvency and / or bankruptcy of the operator of state lotteries;
  40. professional liability insurance of designated conformity assessment bodies and recognized independent organizations for damage that may be caused to third parties.

For the purpose of compulsory insurance, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, unless otherwise specified by law, establishes the procedure and rules for conducting it, the form of a standard contract, the special conditions of licensing of compulsory insurance, the size of insurance amounts and the maximum amounts of insurance tariffs or the method of actuarial settlements.

For contracts of international compulsory civil liability insurance of land vehicle owners, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine establishes the maximum amounts of insurance payments, within which the Motor (Transport) Insurance Bureau of Ukraine sets obligatory for its full members the uniform amounts of insurance payments under such contracts.
